SUPERCAR FEST - THE RUNWAY

SUPERCAR FEST - THE RUNWAY

What a weekend. We've just returned from taking part in the fifth instalment of Supercar Fest, The Runway event held at Sywell Aerodrome in Northamptonshire, UK.

We haven't been to Sywell before and have been intrigued by its history. Sywell Aerodrome opened in 1928 as a grass strip for the emerging private aircraft craze. During the 2nd World War it became RAF Sywell and was used for training pilots using Tiger Moths and it also became a repair centre for Wellington bombers. The venue was used for the 1969 film Battle of Britain featuring Michael Caine. In 2007 the venue was granted permission to install a concrete runway which was completed in 2009. And this runway is now used as part of the ‘side by side’ demonstrations at Supercar Fest - The Runway.

The Runway event sees top speeds recorded along the 1km straight and displayed on the giant screen in front of the main grandstand situated by the start line. In 2024 the amazing Lotus Evija hit the 212mph. Beyond the action on the runway, there’s a spectacular Supercar paddock, live auction, interactive exhibitors, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow enthusiasts.

We’re not quite sure how we’ve missed out in previous years, but the success of the 2024 event made it clear that we needed to be part of it inn 2025. And we're so glad we were!

The event presented itself as a great opportunity to take both JCR cars; The JCR 911 S/T & the JCR GT4 RS. With Jonny as the designated driver we sadly couldn't drag them next to each other but never the less had great fun taking them both down the strip individually.

Our main aim for the day wasn't really to set any times but more to put on a show the JCR way and that's to make lots of noise and maybe a few drifts here and there. From the response we've had online I think we managed to do just that. Thank you to everyone who have shared content of the cars and tagged us too.

Both of the JCR cars performed flawlessly throughout the two day event with a ton of runs between them. The GT4 RS hit a top speed of 155mph and the JCR S/T cracked 159mph. Pretty respectable given relatively low HP numbers compared to someone of the monsters present on the day!

The JCR GT4 RS was running the following combination of exhaust parts:

JCR TITANIUM LINK PIPES (SILENCED)

JCR TITANIUM RACE PIPE (NON SILENCED)

And our 992 S/T was running our full Superlight Race Pipe (Cat Delete / Non Silenced) - You can check out the full selection of our Superlight Race Pipes suitable for 992 GT3 / RS / ST HERE

Needless to say the sound of the JCR S/T stole a lot of hearts over the course of the weekend. It was really awesome to be able to demonstrate the sound of our most extreme exhaust installed on our own car to so many of you during the event.

We met so many amazing people, had such a great weekend and enjoyed getting the cars out of the garage. This is our first event like this and we already can't wait to do it again next year.

Huge congratulations to the Supercar Fest team for putting on such a very well organised and successful event. We hope everyone's ears are recovered this morning!
